“Cooking your own food for the next day is one of the saddest things that can happen in life.”

The protagonist of the story is a girl like many others lost in the life of the big city, forced to go through a series of changes in her life, for which she is not prepared. The first is the end of a romantic relationship (not decided by her); the second is the dismissal and the spasmodic search for a new job (decided by her).

To give her the torment are the ghosts that she carries inside, ready to judge her and to point the finger at everything she does, annihilating all hope and good future prospects in the bud. A story like many others, common to many girls (but also boys, although they find it much more difficult to admit it), with more or less real problems, which are prefigured as mountains too high to climb.

The city of Milan is perfectly described as lived by the generation of unemployed, underpaid, exploited guys/girls in their twenties and thirties, but who still manage to go on to reach an unattainable dream. The Milan of loneliness is also perfectly described, love stories that are beautiful but ended badly, and the wrong ones that continue over time. A correct interpretation of the parallel worlds that overlap in the big city, and lead us to know ourselves better, and find the company of imaginary characters, but who have followed our path of growth, as our favorite writers can be.

The writing is grumpy, without however wanting to indicate any connotation of a positive or negative sense. The author’s pen runs faster than thought in some moments and makes one lose the thread, due to a very personal syntax conveyed by syncopated punctuation. We certainly see the enormous potential of the author, who is ready to blossom if well cultivated and cared for and we are happy to stay at the window waiting for the future flowering.
