“I dedicate this book to those who think that asking questions is the first step to finding answers, to those who think that the right answers are never easy…

Seven chapters of analysis and vision on seven problems that the human race must face in the medium term, but which at best aim to procrastinate. Global issues, but also more specifically domestic ones, for which everyone is involved. Unlike other essays, here however, solutions are not proposed with a magic wand (a typical custom of the Italian political landscape and beyond), but only recognized and analyzed in their complexity and in our inability to want to hide them under the carpet, leaving them as a dowry to future generations.

We are no exception, we have discovered a problem that we did not know existed; that relating to the demographic decline on a global scale. Thinking that we are almost nine billion today, does not make us think that there could be a risk of extinction within thirty-two generations if the degree of reproduction remains the current one of less than two children per couple, and yet the issue is on the table. To understand the problems and critical issues related to it, we refer you to reading the text.

Each chapter of the book addresses a problem, in addition to that of the demographic decline mentioned, the others concern the direct confrontation between the two world superpowers USA and China, up to climate change, immigration, the weight of the oligarchies in the political-economic fabric of a nation, Europe, the Italian economic crisis that has been stuck for twenty years.

The very theme of European disintegration makes us understand that it is time to act, to try to get out of the ford of inconsistencies between the political plan of the founding fathers and the senseless complexity of the processes of the institutions of the communities. The risk here is also that of arriving at the extinction of the European dream, but well before thirty-two generations.

The title is appreciated, which clarifies precisely how the purpose of the book is not to sugarcoat the pill, but so no one has any more alibis, or to say that they did not know, rather the biggest problem is the disinterest that characterizes today’s society.
